New Plugin: WP Editor Tweaks for WordPress

I do a lot of writing in WordPress, but the default typography is pretty weak. The text is too small, the lines too close together, and the fonts aren’t great, either. Fortunately, this is pretty easy to fix, so I built a little plugin.

WP Editor Tweaks changes the fonts to the highly regarded Source Sans Pro in the Visual editor and Source Code Pro in the Text editor. I also increased the font sizes and used the Golden Ratio Typography Calculator for better typography and greater readability.

The changes are subtle but noticeable.

When I get some time, I will add more fonts to choose from. And if I can figure out how to do it, I would like to add syntax highlighting for Markdown and HTML in the Text editor, similar to apps like Byword and Ulysses.

But even without those options, I think WP Editor Tweaks is a nice little plugin that makes writing in WordPress just a little bit better.
