I work at the Legal Innovation & Technology Lab (LIT Lab) at Suffolk Law School, where I coordinate the Document Assembly Line project and help teach the LIT Clinic, and research access to justice.
In general I look for opportunities to solve problems with technology. I think my core strengths are creativity, strategic thinking, system building, and problem solving.
Some of my current projects include a web app for daily most-important tasks, a directory of women-owned skateboard companies, a client dashboard plugin for WordPress, and a directory of Black-owned businesses in Minnesota.
Apart from work I am a dad to two amazing daughters. I am a bookworm. You’ll usually find me with a science fiction or fantasy book, but I also read widely. I keep track of the books I finish at Bite-Size Book Reviews. And I love spending time outside, especially paddling, hiking, and camping in all seasons.
Who is Sam Glover?
Here is an abbreviated professional timeline:
- In 2005 Sam started a Minnesota law firm focused on suing abusive debt collectors and defending people from consumer debt collection lawsuits. Around the same time Sam started Caveat Emptor, one of the first law blogs.
- In 2007 Sam started Lawyerist, which started as a blog about legal technology and innovation and evolved into a business focused on helping small firm lawyers build better businesses. While at Lawyerist, Sam hosted the Lawyerist Podcast and co-authored The Small Firm Roadmap: A Survival Guide to the Future of Your Law Practice.
- Meanwhile, between 2008 and 2018 Sam served on the boards of directors of HOME Line and the Volunteer Lawyers Network.
- In 2020 Sam left Lawyerist and started doing web development for non-profits and other do-gooders.
- In 2024 Sam joined the Suffolk LIT Lab to help scale its Document Assembly Line project.
